NOTICE: The City of The Colony adopted a tax rate that will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year’s tax rate. The tax rate will effectively be raised by 8 percent and will raise taxes for maintenance and operations on a $100,000 home by approximately $4.84.
The Colony encourages all residents to participate in Phase 2 of the city's Drought Contingency Plan. Additionally, residents in the Austin Ranch area are under Stage 3 of Plano's Drought Contingency Plan.

Upon completion in 2015, Grandscape and Nebraska Furniture Mart are expected to create 2,000 jobs and attract between 8-10 million visitors a year. Already open is one of the region’s premier new attractions, TopGolf-The Colony.
