Computers & Technology
The Library has 23 public computers with internet access and printing capabilities. A valid TCPL card in good standing is required to access a public computer. However, Library cards are completely free of charge and we do not have any residency requirements. If you do not yet have a Library card, please register at the front desk when you arrive at the Library.
TCPL has a mobile printing service that allows you to print saved documents from your own device if you do not need to use a public computer.
Visit printeron.net/colony/pl to upload your document to the print queue or email email@example.com (black & white) or firstname.lastname@example.org (color) with your document attached. If sending from another location, please contact the library to verify receipt before you arrive.
- 10¢ per page for black & white
- 25¢ per page for Color
*Library users receive $1 worth of printouts free each day. Any additional printouts will be charged based on the prices listed above.

- 50¢ per page, with a $5 maximum
Documents may be scanned using the Library's copy machine. Please bring a portable USB drive to save your scanned documents. The machine cannot send a scanned document via email. Scanning documents is free of charge.
WiFi access is available 24/7 anywhere inside the Library, as well as the Library/City Hall parking lot. This service, funded by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services and Texas State Library and Archives Commission (Grant #CAR1-21036). When inside the Library, be sure to connect to The Colony Library network. Look for “The Colony Library Parking Lot” wireless network to connect from the parking lot. No password is required.
Webcam/Virtual Meeting Services
The Library has 1 computer with a webcam. To use this computer, please contact the Library at 972-625-1900 ext. 3 to reserve this PC for a specific time slot. Availability may vary.
