The City of The Colony's Communications Department utilizes a variety of methods to provide timely and useful information to our residents, visitors, and businesses.

Social Media

For starters, our thriving social media presence and ever-evolving television programming ensures there is never a shortage of up-to-the-minute information flowing to the public about the city's news and events. If you haven't already, be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

Recorded Broadcasts

Access to the workings of city government is available on Cable Channel 16, which features live and recorded broadcasts of City Council and Planning & Zoning meetings, among others. Information about what's happening at the Library, Parks and Recreation events, non-profit events, rebroadcasts of Texas Parks & Wildlife programs and more are also featured on Channel 16 as well as on our streaming Community TV site. To have information about your non-profit event broadcast, download and return a Request to Broadcast Form.

You may also have information delivered straight to your inbox via our Email Subscription List. Subscribers choose the information they wish to receive, ranging from City Council agendas, Planning & Zoning agendas, our citywide e-newsletter, general news and information, and community events and activities.

Visitors to the City by the Lake may avail themselves of The Colony Convention & Visitors Bureau website, which has an extensive amount of information on the city including things to do, places to stay, and great food to enjoy!
