Street & Alley Maintenance

The City of Colony maintains approximately 150 lane miles of paved streets and about 78 lane miles of paved alleyways within the city. Street and Alley Maintenance responds to pavement deterioration and failures throughout the city, placing repair emphasis on locations which may present a hazard to the motoring public.

Streets and Alley Maintenance also crack seals many city streets to reduce water infiltration and pavement deterioration. They also perform temporary asphalt repairs to make streets and alleys safe until concrete repairs can be accomplished. When necessary, contract services are obtained to provide additional maintenance capabilities or to accomplish specialized services. Maintenance of The Colony's two major highways (Main Street / FM 423 and SH 121) is performed by the Texas Department of Transportation.
