AARP Driver Safety Program
This driving refresher course is designed specifically for seniors, and offered six times a year. A certificate awarded at the end of the course may allow for lower insurance rates for the next three years. The cost of the course is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members. The one day session meets for four hours. Call the Community Center for upcoming dates and times.
Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program
Monday, Wednesday and Friday
9:15 - 10 a.m.
Stretch, strengthen and tone muscles in this no-impact exercise class. If you have arthritis or just need to start a regular program, this free class is the place for you. Most exercises are done seated with a stretchy band. Fore some exercises, you may stand or remain seated if desired. This is an ongoing class that may be joined at any time.
10 - 11:30 a.m.
1 - 2:30 p.m.
10 a.m. - Noon
Instructors Shannon Morehouse make line dancing fun as you learn new steps. Line Dance is a great form of low impact aerobic exercise. This is a free class.

Experienced benefits counselors from the North Central Texas Area Agency on Aging are available to help if you have a question about your benefits. Help is available with information about Medicare prescription drug plans, Medicaid/SSI, long-term care benefits and other public benefits. Call 972-624-2246 for an appointment.
A nutritionally balanced lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. by SPAN, Special Programs For Aging Needs, a Denton County program. The suggested donation is $2 for individuals 60 and over; the cost is $5 for individuals under 60. Pre-registration is required and orders need to be made 24 hours in advance. Limited public transportation is available to various locations within the Denton County area for senior residents. To register and get more information, call SPAN Transportation at 940-243-8556. The SPAN program is provided by Denton County.
