Volunteer Opportunities

Welcome and thank you for your interest in volunteering your time to The Colony Public Library. Help out and have fun! Library volunteers help fulfill the Library's goal of providing excellent service to the community. Volunteer service is performed with guidance from the Library staff and may include such activities as:

  • Getting new materials ready to be placed in the collection
  • Assisting with youth programs
  • Shelf-reading (keeping the materials in order)
  • Assisting with production of promotional materials
  • Teaching classes about popular subjects
  • Leading book discussion groups
  • Developing local history files
  • Helping with general maintenance or cleaning

Apply

To start the process of volunteering at The Colony Public Library, complete either the Library's  adult volunteer application form (18 and over) or youth volunteer application form, (under 18). Volunteer applicants under the age of 18 must complete the youth volunteer application form and have a parent or guardian digitally sign the online waiver.  Volunteer applicants between 12 and 13 may only volunteer with a parent who also fills out an adult volunteer application form, or the youth volunteer may be on the Teen Advisory Panel.

If you need further information about volunteering at the Library, contact the Library's Volunteer Coordinator Tammy Beauchamp or call 972-624-4417.
