City Closings
If the City of the Colony Closes Due to Inclement Weather: All Parks and Recreation and Public Library programs, classes, events and rentals are cancelled. All Parks and Recreation and Public Library facilities and offices will be closed for the duration of the City closure.
Other Closings
Other Inclement Weather Closings: The Colony Parks and Recreation Department and The Colony Public Library reserve the right to cancel or close at any time, should weather and public safety conditions warrant.
Inclement weather cancellations of programs, events, classes and rentals by The Colony Parks and Recreation Department and The Colony Public Library will be based on the closing decision of LISD.
In the event of inclement weather when LISD schools are not in session or a non-school day, The Colony Parks and Recreation Department and The Colony Public Library reserve the right to cancel programs and close facilities should weather conditions warrant.
LISD Schools
If LISD Schools Are Closed All Day, Open Late, or Close Early: All Parks and Recreation and Public Library programs, classes, events, and rentals are cancelled during the time period of the LISD closure. The Colony Community Center will be closed when LISD schools are closed, but other facilities (Recreation Center, Aquatic Park, Public Library) may remain open for public use depending on weather conditions.
If LISD Schools Do Not Dismiss Early, but Cancel All After School and Evening Activities: All Parks and Recreation and Public Library programs, classes, events and rentals will end at 5 p.m.
Rescheduling
Rescheduling of Cancelled Programs, Classes, Events, and Rentals: Every effort will be made to reschedule cancelled Parks and Recreation programs. Scheduling of makeup dates and times will be provided at the next regularly scheduled class session. Should makeup programs not be scheduled, participants will be provided a pro-rated refund. Rescheduling of rentals can be coordinated by contacting Parks and Recreation; rescheduling use of the Library study rooms and of appointments with library staff can be coordinated through the Public Library. If no rescheduled date can be arranged, refunds of fees will be provided. Public Library programs will generally not be rescheduled; in the case of events requiring registration, registrants will be notified regarding rescheduling.
