On Thursday, April 22, The Colony Fire Department will be relocating the outdoor warning siren currently located at the intersection South Colony and Memorial to the city's water-tower site on Chesapeake Drive.
Following relocation, contractors will perform two tests to ensure proper installation and operation - both of which will be 10- to 15-seconds in duration approximately late afternoon. This move is necessary because the land for the current location has changed hands. There will be no change, however, to the siren's effective coverage from the new location.
Visit our Emergency Outdoor Warning page for more information about the system.
