On Wednesday, July 14, The Colony Fire Department will be relocating the outdoor warning siren currently at the intersection of South Colony and Memorial to the city's water-tower site on Chesapeake Drive.
Following relocation, contractors will perform one full test to ensure proper installation and operation, which will be 20 seconds in duration approximately late afternoon.
This move is necessary because the land for the current location has changed hands. There will be no change, however, to the siren's effective coverage from the new location.
Visit our Emergency Outdoor Warning page for more information about the system.
