Seventeen candidates were nominated to serve on the five-member board, whose members serve two-year terms. Terre garnered the most votes of all nominees at 913. He serves as the board’s vice chairman.

David Terre, City Council Member“I am extremely pleased and gratified to have received the highest winning vote total,” Terre said. “I take my role as a DCAD board member very seriously, and I believe this vote validates the significant contributions I have and will continue to make on this board.”

Sixty-one Denton County voting entities participate in this election, consisting of 43 cities, 17 school districts and the Denton County Commissioners Court. Of the 17 nominees, Terre was the only elected city official on the ballot. He was nominated by The Colony City Council during its regular meeting on Nov. 16, 2021.

Terre is eager to work alongside fellow board members as they continue to overcome the challenges of record growth within Denton County amid uncertain times.

“With COVID 19 and other related variants still very much affecting our lives, and with expectations of another Denton County double-digit population growth, our 2022 board will be faced with challenges that will require sound judgement in making the right decisions,” he said. “I look forward to being a part of that process.”
