Regretfully, the Owl & Howl Prowl scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 18, has been cancelled due to wet conditions and high water on the Shoreline Trail. Safety is our first priority. We appreciate your understanding.
ORIGINAL POST: A guided tour of The Colony Shoreline Trail is a great opportunity to learn about wildlife and native plants from a local expert. Join Keep The Colony Beautiful for a rare chance to stay on the trail after hours and learn about the shoreline environment.
Go on a leisurely, guided “Owl & Howl Prowl” from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, to look for wildlife and their tracks and signs with Texas Master Naturalist Donna Cole. Listen and learn how to identify sounds from local nocturnal animals. Get educated about the wildlife that lives around and among us and how we can coexist peacefully.
The walk will be approximately 1-2 miles round trip. Bring water and dress for the weather; bug spray, binoculars and a flashlight are optional. Participants are asked to meet at the intersection of Lakeshore Boulevard and Lake Ridge Drive between 6:15 and 6:30 p.m. We encourage everyone to sign up for the event online.
