[ARCHIVED] TCPD responds to barricaded suspect

At approximately 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, The Colony Police Department received a 911 call reporting a person with a gun in the 4500 block of Chapman Street.

Caller stated that he had locked himself in the bathroom inside the residence; suspect is walking around with a gun in his hand and will not let the caller out of the house.

Officers along with the Special Response Team (SRT) and Negotiators arrived at the scene. Suspect had barricaded himself inside the residence. As a precaution, students from the Stewart’s Creek Elementary School who walk home were asked to stay in place for their safety.

At approximately 3:35 p.m. the suspect decided to come out of the residence with hands in the air to turn himself in to the authorities.  Neither suspect nor victims sustained any injuries and none of the officers involved were injured. The students from Stewart’s Creek Elementary School were released to go home.
