On Friday, Sept. 6, The Colony Police Department received a 911 call reporting a person was shot in the 5500 block of Rearn Drive.
Officers arrived at the scene and were told by a witness the suspect had fled the scene in a blue car traveling towards State Highway 121. After searching for the suspect’s vehicle officers located it and conducted a traffic stop at Home Depot in Plano. The Colony Chief of Police was on scene and detained the suspect. Additional officers from The Colony Police Department arrived shortly and placed the suspect under arrest.
The male victim who suffered two gunshot wounds was taken by The Colony Fire Department to a local hospital and his condition is unknown at this time. The victim and the suspect lived in the residence where the assault occurred. It is believed that this is an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public.
