The community is invited to join members of The Colony City Council and The Colony Animal Services (TCAS) staff in celebrating the groundbreaking of the new animal shelter office building expansion.
The groundbreaking event is set for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at the Shelter, 4720 East Lake Highlands Drive.
When complete, the new building will consist of a larger ADA-accessible lobby area for visitors and guests, more office space for staff, a conference and break room, and additional bathrooms and storage space. The expansion will take place in the empty area to the west of the current building.
“This has been a long time coming and we could not be more excited,” said Mark Cooper, Animal Services Manager. “If you have not visited the shelter in the last few years, we also invite you to walk through and see our many improvements. We hope to see everyone there and we appreciate our community’s continued support!”
Cooper also encourages attendees to consider adopting any of the amazing dogs or cats available at the Shelter. TCAS will be offering a reduced adoption fee of $40 for all animals on Jan. 11, in addition to coffee and doughnuts as refreshments. For more information, send us an email or call 972-370-9250.
