During its regular meeting on July 7, The Colony City Council approved a budget amendment to provide $15,000 for COVID19-related rental assistance and relief.
The funding is in response to an increased demand for rental assistance during the pandemic and will help facilitate timely distribution to those who need it most. The funds will go to local non-profit Next Steps, which is among many agencies working with the United Way of Denton County to help provide North Texans and residents of The Colony with a variety of assistance.
Next Steps (972-445-7770) is a non-profit that provides free coaching and resources to prevent life’s obstacles from becoming crisis and to help those already in crisis to recover. Next Steps The Colony has created a central fund for helping individuals and non-profits in The Colony meet their needs at this difficult time. Funds designated for coronavirus relief will be distributed only to recipients in the city of The Colony.
A listing of additional resources for residents who may be in need of various assistance is available on our website.
