At about 6:25 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, The Colony Police Department received notification there was a major vehicle crash in the 7500 block of Main Street, just north of East Lake Highlands Drive in the northbound lanes of traffic.

The crash resulted in the fatality of one driver, who was driving a white Dodge Ram 1500 truck, and an injury to another driver who was in a Honda Accord. The driver of the Honda Accord was transported to a hospital with an injury to his hand, arm, and collarbone. It is believed that the driver of the Dodge Ram truck was traveling southbound on Main Street and crossed over the median then struck the Honda Accord head on, who was traveling northbound in the left inside lane of the roadway.

The Dodge Ram truck then made contact with a large, dark-colored dump truck that was traveling northbound in the center lane of the roadway. The Dodge Ram truck and the dump truck eventually came to rest in the roadway. Special Traffic Investigators worked the crash scene and the northbound roadway was closed down for approximately 5.5 hours, opening just before noon.
