COVID-19 vaccine information from DCPH

Vaccine

Are you looking for a first or second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine closer to work, school, or home? Denton County Public Health suggests checking out the handy vaccine finder at vaccines.gov/search to search by zip code and manufacturer.

As of March 2021, three COVID-19 vaccines have been authorized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for different age groups. Vaccine is shipped directly to enrolled COVID-19 vaccine providers as allocated by the Department of State Health Services (DSHS). Texas DSHS has determined that all Texans will be eligible to receive a vaccine.

For information regarding vaccines available from Denton County Public Health (DCPH), including who is eligible to receive a vaccine, when, and where, visit the:

Call the DCPH vaccine hotline at 940-349-2585 for more information or to confirm your registration status.

Transportation

The Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) has expanded the State Mobile Vaccine Program to include groups of five or more Texans who voluntarily choose to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Texans can call 844-90-TEXAS and select Option 3 to schedule a mobile vaccine clinic to vaccinate groups of friends, families, employees, volunteers, and more.

Residents with vaccine appointments through DCPH who may need help with transportation to the clinics may request free rides through a partnership between Denton County, the Denton County Transportation Authority, and Span Inc. More information is available on the Denton County website.

Additionally, you may visit the Texas COVID-19 Vaccine Provider Locations map to see if and where you might be able to get a vaccine. Remember, your ability to get a vaccine will depend on vaccine availability at your provider’s office, clinic, or facility. Please call ahead to your provider. Texans can also keep track of the percentage of residents vaccinated on the Texas DSHS website.
