[ARCHIVED] COVID-19 vaccine information from DCPH

Denton County residents can now sign up for a waitlist to receive the COVID-19 vaccine on the new Vaccine Interest Portal at DentonCounty.gov/vaccine.

As of March 2021, three COVID-19 vaccines have been authorized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Vaccine is shipped directly to enrolled COVID-19 vaccine providers as allocated by the Department of State Health Services (DSHS). Texas DSHS has announced that starting Monday, March 29, all Texans will be eligible to receive a vaccine.

Transportation

Residents with vaccine appointments through DCPH who may need help with transportation to the clinics may request free rides through a partnership between Denton County, the Denton County Transportation Authority, and Span Inc. More information is available on the Denton County website.

The Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) has expanded the State Mobile Vaccine Program to include groups of five or more Texans who voluntarily choose to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Texans can call 844-90-TEXAS and select Option 3 to schedule a mobile vaccine clinic to vaccinate groups of friends, families, employees, volunteers, and more.

Additionally, you may visit the Texas COVID-19 Vaccine Provider Locations map to see if and where you might be able to get a vaccine. Remember, your ability to get a vaccine will depend on vaccine availability at your provider’s office, clinic, or facility. Please call ahead to your provider.

  • As of March 30, Texas DSHS has launched a Texas Public Health Vaccine Scheduler that provides Texans one place to sign up for a COVID-19 shot through multiple public health departments. This Scheduler does NOT include DCPH.
