New winter hours at Stewart Creek Park

Stewart Creek Park 2019

Effective Monday, Dec, 9, Stewart Creek Park winter operating hours will change to 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

These hours will be effective annually each November through February. Normal parks hours (6 a.m. to 10 p.m.) will resume March through October.

It's holiday season in The Colony!

Christmas Spectacular

The holidays kicked off on Dec. 7 with Holiday in the Park festivities at Perryman Park. The season's celebrations are all month long as The Colony Christmas Spectacular Light Show continues at Central Fire Station.

Egret deterrence efforts resume

Egret deterrence

In an effort to encourage the birds to move on with their migration now that they can all fly, city staff will resume "hazing" activities (including the use of noisemakers) in affected neighborhoods starting Wednesday, Oct. 2.

These actions are being conducted in concert with Texas Parks and Wildlife and U.S. Fish and Wildlife, both of which have been on site to evaluate the current conditions and have approved the resumption of deterrence efforts.
