What occurs during an arraignment?

An arraignment is a formal meeting between a Judge and a prisoner. The Judge informs the prisoner of his or her charge(s), reads the prisoner his or her rights, and advises the prisoner of the bond amount. If the charges are The Colony Class C charges, the Judge may also take a plea on those charges. The Judge does not have jurisdiction in taking pleas for Non-The Colony charges or The Colony charges higher than a class C misdemeanor. For further questions, contact us at 972-624-3944.
